Adopting a New Season of Life

Adopting a New Season of Life

Seasons are fun because they are unpredictable.

They are full of new excitement and transforming challenges. Whether it's school, marriage, children or career, I find it thrilling to expect the unexpected.

2012

For S and I, we have had an amazing 5-year start to our married journey. It seems like yesterday that we had just met, exchanging silly jokes and serious life goals. We have become two peas in an amazing pod. Our pod full of amazing family and friends who have brought us joy, life and laughter.

And just like many married couples, we have been slowly pursuing the avenue of growing our pod for a few more mini-peas.

It's been a few years of praying, understanding, preparing and experience, but I think our pursuit has finally found a clear path.

We are adopting.

It is a decision purely based on our roots. Roots bound to the story of God and the commission to adopt. A commission to serve with the resources and abilities given to us. For our family, it is about being His hands and His feet in the most tangible way we can be.

“…but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” —The Bible

Truth is, God pursued us when we had no idea where to begin but it has always spoken to us throughout our past five years. Sometimes in a soft whisper and other times undeniably loud. God has refined our hearts.

“In love, he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ…”—The Bible

We are learning, even now, that He has always been waiting for us to pick up our mantle and move forward.

So we invite you in, to share along with us on this exciting chapter of our life. It will be difficult. It will be fun. It will be rocky. It will be memorable. But more than anything it will be for good, good, good, good, good!

Here’s to a new season!
