Accepting the Unexpected

It has been a few months. Five, to be exact. 

It wasn't planned, but it was much needed hiatus from social media because my thumbs were aching, my creativity dwindling and my time wasted sitting idle. The stillness was needed and timed so perfectly.

In these five months of solitude, we as a family have also been walking through some big ups and downs. It's been a season of waiting and a season of trying to wrap our minds around the goodness of God in seeming silence. Hope has been crushed quite a few times and we have been left wondering about this journey. 

But in the process, something funny happened. Something unexpected.  We cherished this new thing for a few months until we were ready to share it.

For five months, this little has been hiding out in my tummy.

It has been weeks of happiness, but also wondering what's next? 

Adulting is hard. 

Our hearts are still fully committed to adopting. We have a few more months before all of our paperwork begins to expire. A few more months of hoping but we have no idea how it will all end. 

Whichever the ending, we're okay because it's been a trust fall since day one and I couldn't have asked for a better best friend to share it with. Here's to the most eventful year of our lives and a chapter that will be more riveting than next week's episode of Game of Thrones.
